Jan Dismas Zelenka’s music has been attracting the musical public for a number of years and every newly-discovered part of his work has been received with wonder. The Inégal Ensemble has been focusing on this most important Czech Baroque composer’s work for a long time and the project which presented the complete three cycles of Zelenka’s psalms attracted enormous attention. Similarly to Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata work, Zelenka’s psalms in their concentrated form represent the best of the author’s compositional mastery and creative originality.
