The French Ensemble Organum explores the art of ornamentation. This musical phenomenon of the 16th century is illustrated through the three great repertoires which reveal the permanence of this phenomenon: Byzantine chant, monodic ecclesiastical chant and Corsican chant based on oral tradition. The music originated centuries ago, however, the ornamentation brings a dynamics which gives it a contemporary flavor.
