Three saxophones and stomping rhythms – a cool jazz sextet
In the MulliGang sextet, renowned musicians from Brno pay tribute to cool jazz – a style that determined the development of jazz music especially in the 1950s. Their fundamental inspiration is the playing and compositional mastery of the legend of the cool jazz era - baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan. The elaborate "Mulligan" arrangement is based on the dense color of three saxophones and the precise interplay of the rhythm section; at the same time, all players can show off in solo areas.
Radek Zapadlo – tenor saxophone
Radim Hanousek – tenor saxophone
Lubor Pokluda – baritone saxophone, arrangement
Vladan Ronner – piano
Vincenc Kummer – double bass
