Concept Art Orchestra came into being in 2010 at the Jazz Academy in Katowice, Poland. The band consisted of former Polish, Czech and Slovak students of the academy, and was lead by Ed Partyka, the famous American conductor and composer, who was at that time artist in residence at the Academy. The album Concept Art Orchestra Katowice was released in the same year, and included several original compositions written by former students. Ed Partyka again collaborated with the Concept Art Orchestra two years later. By request from Czech Radio another album, Bigbandtronics  was released. The line-up of the big band on this CD is almost identical to today.
