JazzFestBrno introduces Beata Hlavenková and Vertigo.

Beata Hlavenková - Scintilla

Beata Hlavenková combines on her new album Scintilla influences of classical music, minimalism, jazz and folk music and this natural mix of genres reaches its own sound. This sound is already being unique and easily identifiable, whether in her own work, or works for Baromantika of Lenka Dusilová, which is a crucial member and co-author of repertoire.

Vertigo:

Vojtěch Procházka – piano, Marcel Bárta – tenor, alto, soprano saxophone, bass clarinet, Rastislav Uhrík – double bass, Daniel Šoltis – drums, Dorota Barová – cello, singing, Oskar Török – trumpet, singing

Vertigo is one of the most original groups to come from Prague in the last 15 years. It emerged from jazz but thanks to constantly leaping musical boundaries Vertigo created a sound of its’ own. Vertigo is best characterized by creativity, total improvisation, but also sophisticated compositions that often reach into contemporary classical music. Vertigo, formerly known as Vertigo Quintet has now become a sextet by including a former guest Dorota Barová on cello, voice and electronics. In autumn 2016 Vertigo released fifth album Nononononininini.
