LEBANON HANOVER (UK/DE) + BODY OF PAIN + BLOOD PACT

24/11/22, 20:00

LEBANON HANOVER (UK/DE)

Minimalistic dark wave that comes from two beating hearts. Lebanon Hanover is an ice-cold post-punk answer to today's alienated world. Switzerland's Larissa Iceglass and Britain's William Maybelline appear as true modern-day romantics who admire the poet William Wordsworth. Fascinated by the beauty of art nouveau aesthetics, they explore British coasts and forests at night or, conversely, are inspired by Berlin's urbanism. Two figures in the fog, who connect a dark synthesizer sound, a throbbing bass line and melancholic lyrics.

The British-German duo Lebanon Hanover was formed in 2010. A year later, a split with the band La Fete Triste was released, and they only got more attention with the album The World Is Getting Colder from 2012, which, like all other albums, was released by Fabrika Records. British music magazine Terrorizer called Lebanon Hanover "the best British band you didn't know existed." Their music has been compared to 1980s gothic rock/post-punk like Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure or Bauhaus. With their latest album, Sci-Fi Sky, the band managed to follow up on the best of their own work, and the bar set by the records Tomb For Two and Let Them Be Alien was damn high. Cold and frosty aesthetics in their purest form!
