MATT CHARETTE + TIM SCHUMANN + LUKE LECHELER + FRANKIE KNUTH

17/06/23, 20:00

Acoustic tour of four singers, three of whom travel from the USA and one from Prague. Matt Charette from Boston, MA, already seasoned from American and European tours, both solo and for example with the hardcore legend Slapshot. He will be seconded by Tim Schumann and Luke Lecheler from Minneapolis, MN, who also come from the punk rock scene, but they also have their own solo projects. Frankie Knuth, now active in Frankie & The Deadbeats, will perform as the fourth in a row.

Matt Charette
One of the busiest and most visible members of Boston's booming DIY music scene, singer and songwriter. Matt Charette plays his own version of hard, punk Americana. Or, as Matt himself said recently, "a reformed punk version of bastardized Americana that I invented." Charette's great band The Truer Sound plays hard rock and roll, which is made special by hammonds. The Truer Sound are excellently played and in some places remind of Steve Earle's great band from the beginning of his era. Matt Charette himself then wrote all the songs on his upcoming second album Lo Fi High Hopes, which he will present in Europe.

Tim Schumann
Tim grew up in the mid to late 90s in Sioux Falls, South Dakota playing in punk/hardcore bands. Since then, he has also been dedicated to music as an author. He currently lives in Minneapolis and devotes himself to his current band Loss Leader, which is about to release its new album on the local DIY label Dead Eagle Records. In 2010, he released a collection of acoustic songs called The Heart of Sea, currently he is about to release a new solo record called Rust and Snow, which will also be released by Dead Eagle Records in the summer of 2023. And it is this record that Tim will present on the upcoming European tour.

Luke Lecheler
He spent years touring the US and abroad, sharing songwriting and playing lead guitar in the raucous twang-punk band The Right Here and keyboards with true Midwestern rockers Nato Coles & The Blue Diamond Band. He's a familiar face at The Fest in Gainesville, Pouzza Fest in Montreal, and just returned from Europe where he played organ at Manchester Punk Fest with punk rock regulars The Slow Death. Even during his travels, Luke always remains faithful - musically and geographically - to his home in Minneapolis. The tracks on The Right Here's last full-length album, Northern Town, were aptly described by the Scene Point Blank server as "Replacements fans coming together to write songs inspired by Uncle Tupelo, Lucero and Bruce Springsteen". As a solo artist, Luke also turns to folk singing icons such as John Prine and Todd Snider, while maintaining the punk rock ethos of his rock'n'roll peers such as Arliss Nancy and Two Cow Garage. His solo performances include versions of his songs from the album The Right Here as well as previously unreleased acoustic-folk originals. He is currently writing solo material, recording a new studio album with The Right Here and planning a tour of the Czech Republic in June 2023.

Frankie Knuth
Frankie played acoustic versions of Frankie & The Deadbeats songs for the first time on his US tour. It was there that he met a group of friends and great musicians, and together they will now travel through the Czech Republic.
