A shining star on the horizon of the doom/stoner scene. American melodic doom-duo YEAR OF THE COBRA from Seattle returns to Kaboš. The band will release new material, which they will present on tour in Brno as well. Their songs relentlessly move from classic epic doom wails to oppressive riff architecture, while turning occasional rock moments into mesmerizing psychedelia.
From the very first riffs, YEAR OF THE COBRA continues the tradition of heavy-duty bands like Jucifer, Helms Alee, Sleep with the mysterious atmosphere of Chelsea Wolfe. Bassist/vocalist Amy Tung Barrysmyth and drummer Jon Barrysmyth released their first record in 2015 and things have been going strong ever since. The debut big record was immediately picked up by the STB records label and produced by Bill Anderson (Swans, Melvins, Neurosis). The year 2019 was marked by the great album Ash And Dust, this time at Prophecy Productions. The heavy-duty tentacles and call of the intoxicating voice of the jellyfish are back!
