The duo Andrea Konstankiewicz and Dorota Bar aka Tara Fuki are at the end of their journey after 23 years of playing together. As part of the last concerts during the farewell tour, they will visit on 22.11. also to the MÚZ Cabinet.
The music of the Tara Fuki duo is completely unique (it has its roots in joint improvisations, which are gradually developed more deeply), fragile dynamic and extremely rich in expression. Enriched with imprints of various musical styles with a flavor of distant times, it creates an original beauty of a woman's interior. Their songs for two wooden bodies, interwoven with the caressing sound of Polish, create a fragile web of tones on first listen, which can turn into a dangerous trap with the wave of a bow.
Since its inception, Tara Fuki has celebrated concert successes throughout Europe (Buskers Bern 2019 in Switzerland, Urkult festival 2018 in Sweden, Waves festival 2017 in Denmark), Central America (Eurojazz festival 2018 in Mexico) and Egypt (Cairo jazz festival 2016). In the years 2005-2007, Tara Fuki presented the Czech Republic with the children's show Kapka in France. For their music, they received awards from the Czech Academy of Popular Music in the categories Alternative Music-World Music and Discovery of the Year for 2001 and in the World Music category for 2007. In 2007, they were the first Czech band to perform at the WOMEX international music fair in Seville, Spain. In 2015, they won the prize of the expert jury at the showcase festival Czech music crossroads in Ostrava. Last year, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary and released a new album Motyle in the fall, on which the ladies remain poetic and their compositions sound fragile yet with unprecedented inner strength.
