RUFUS MILLER
British singer, guitarist and composer Rufus Miller is going on a joint tour with the award-winning Slovak duo Lash&Grey in April.
Rufus Miller is known to a wider audience mainly thanks to his collaboration with Sting. But the work of this versatile artist from South London is much wider. He performs concerts with groups like Riddles, Sleaze, Fragile, guest in his sister Misty Miller's band. His genre coverage is interesting. Here we find the influence of psychedelic, gothic rock and soothing folk music, with lyrical themes of love, loss and melancholy. Rufus has so far released two albums (Pop skull and Make It) as well as several singles.
Rufus Miller introduced himself to the Czech audience a few years ago as a member of Sting's backing band. This year, for the first time, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy his unmistakable style during a tour in the Czech Republic in a three-piece line-up with Andy Thompson(b) and Ralph Fuller(d).
Together with Rufus and his bandmates, the duo Lash&Grey, consisting of young Slovak artists Kristína Mihaľová and Jakub Šedivý, will go on tour through Czech and Moravian cities. The pair, crowned with several prestigious awards (Anděl Award for the best Slovak album, Radio_Head Award for the best debut album and song of the year), have already released two albums. Over the past two years, Lash&Grey have performed on world-famous stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, at festivals in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Paris, Italy, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and many others. As the only European, Kristina made it to the finals of the TOP 5 singers from around the world in the prestigious Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition in New Jersey.
Rufus Miller's joint tour with Lash&Grey is aptly titled Together on the Road. The stylistically unconventional and exclusive combination is in itself a promise of a great concert experience. In addition, listeners can look forward to the connection of both formations in the form of a duet between Kristina and Rufus.
The Together on the road tour will start on Sunday 14 April 2024 in Prague, but already on Saturday 13 April. Rufus Miller will perform in Humpolec as a guest at the concert of Dominic Miller, the world-renowned "Sting's guitarist". Great musicians, father and son, will meet here on one stage, and they will "belong" to the Czech and Moravian music scenes in April.
