Jiří Hradil, Petr Mička's Mining Music and Forest Animals
Hrubá hudba is a joint concert project of the nu-jazz band Lesní zvěr, its frontman Jiří Hradil, and Petr Mička's Horňácké muzik. It is based on the publishing title of the same name (2CD Hrubá Hudba, Indies Scope, 2019), which juxtaposes and connects the authentic form of mining music folklore in the form of Mička's band and Jiří Hradil's original music. However, the connection of these performers of different genres dates back to 2009, when the Mickovci guested on the debut album Lesní zvěre (Lesní zvěre, 2009). In the course of the following years, occasional joint concerts and performances at multi-genre festivals (e.g. Beseda u bigbítu or Colors of Ostrava) followed, in the TV documentary Slovácká suite (director Jiří Šindar), at the International Folklore Festival Strážnice or as part of the concert Teče voda, teče in Prague Rudolfinum on 27 October 2018 for the centenary of Czech statehood. The collaboration between Lesní zvěra, Jiří Hradil and Petr Mička's Horňácká muzik resulted in the specific music-publishing project Hrubá Hudba. With the concert form of the project, the performers bring an original intermingling of two completely different musical worlds at first glance, which is unprecedented in the Moravian musical environment.

Forest animals devote themselves to trans-genre musical excursions that could generally be included under the term nu-jazz. In the domestic environment, it is an integral part of the alternative music scene and a traditional participant in multi-genre festivals. However, the specific musical language and means of expression of Forest Animals have an impact on the foreign music scene as well. In its portfolio, the band has participated in several important international jazz festivals, e.g. Brussels Jazz Marathon, Eurojazz Festival Mexico, Bialsko-Biala or Kaunas Jazz Festival.

Petr Mička's miner's music has been active on the Moravian folklore scene for 20 years. The musical and singing expression of the band is based on the rich tradition of musical culture of Horňáck and follows it in the truest possible stylistic form. Muzika collaborates with the most outstanding regional singers and ensembles, with whom she shot a number of musical films. But the scope of the band has been wider in recent years. In addition to traditional folklore opportunities, the Mickovci participate in various musical projects and collaborations outside the classical folklore spectrum, both at home and abroad.
