Legendary bassist Mike Watt belongs to the generation around Black Flag and the SST label, played in Minutemen and Firehose and also played with Iggy Pop in The Stooges. He will reach the Cabinet of the MÚZ with the avant-garde rock project Il Sogno Del Marinaio.
Terzo is the third album of the Il Sogno Del Marinaio project, an avant-rock trio formed by legendary bassist Mike Watt (Minutemen, Firehose, The Stooges), cult Italian experimentalist Stefano Pilia (Massimo Volume, In Zaire, Afterhours, Rokia Traore) and drummer Paolo Mongard (Zeus, Fuzz Orchestra, Fulkanelli).
This new batch of records is an incredible imprint of a band forging their own path, soaring to new heights while bending the traditional rock format. From tight grooves, through clumsy jazz-skronk, post-punk madness to cosmic and furious funk. Anchored by Watt's quiet bass rumble, the new album Il Sogno Del Marinaio literally breathes life.
Terzo offers the sound of a band that is absolutely sure of its purpose. Their past suggests that new possibilities can still be found and that the only territory left to explore is free-spirited, magical, restless and uncompromising.
