Both in the Czech Republic and abroad, music similar to that played by UJD cannot be found. Yippee
punk-wild, urgent, at the same time compositionally demanding, worked out in detail with
timeless texts. Typical is the trumpet sound, choirs, incredible pace and live performances,
which abound with strong energy and humor. Perhaps this is also why their audience does not grow old with them.
Although to the uninitiated, their music may seem chaotic, haphazardly put together or
improvised, the opposite is true. In their music, every note, detail, discipline matters
bands and, similarly to a symphony orchestra, the musicians play according to the score.
The visual aspect, which is provided by the artist and non-players, is also an integral signature of the band
member Martin Velíšek.
The band Už zme doma was formed in Teplice in 1985. After about half a year, they joined the band
Miroslav Wanek and Romek Hanzlík from the legendary punk band F.P.B. and they brought with them
the style of work and the otherness that F.P.B. characterized Except for the music We already had at home
F.P.B. noticeable influence as well as the avant-garde Rock in Opposition scene led by The Residents and
last but not least, the punk scene (Damned, Eba Grön). On the Czech stage they belonged and belong to
families of groups such as Psí vojáci, Dunaj, Dybbuk or Krásné new machines.
Before November, they were pushed almost underground by the stupid system, more or less without
the ability to legally play in public or record records. However, soon after November
mainly thanks to their sophisticated originality, diligence and will, they penetrated into European clubs and
immediately to the North American continent and to Japan, where they celebrated and still celebrate success at
regular concerts. Until the present time, they represented their Czech culture
original music in more than 40 countries (over 700 concerts in the USA alone) on 4
continents and thus became a respected part of the world avant-garde.
The band often ventures into other areas of art - music for animated films
(evening Krysáci; Fimfárum – Míra Wanek was nominated for the Czech Lion for the music),
theater (Ex-theater Zvolen, Minor, etc.).
