Mozart in museum

26/04/16, 17:00

26.4.  5pm vernissage
27. 4. - 31. 12. 2016

The exhibition prepared on the occasion of the 260th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart leads the visitor to the fascinating music world of this great composer. Precious exhibits show how Mozart´s music spread throughout copying, music archives and museums and has been preserved until now. Unique early copies and prints of Mozart´s compositions from the collections of the Department of Music / Moravian Museum are on display, some of them for the very first time. Period music instruments and artefacts connected to Mozart complete the ambience. In a special room even very young visitors can listen to Mozart´s music and experience copying notes like scribes of the 18th century.

The exhibition takes place under the patronage of the Mayor of Brno, Ing. Petr Vokřál.

The whole project has been financially supported by the statutory city of Brno.
