Russ Spiegel is a guitarist, songwriter, arranger and actor, best known for his several
soundtracks for Hollywood films. His musical career began with his bachelor's studies
at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He went on to pursue a master's degree at City College
in New York, where he studied with the local cream of the crop such as Ben Monder, Paul Bollenback and
John Pattitucci. He then lived for many years in Germany, where he collaborated with local musicians and
he also became a member of the accompanying band of the world-famous organist Barbara Dennerlein. WITH
He toured with Barbara for several years and recorded several albums with her.
Russ is also part of American pop culture - he coached young actors for a TV series
Nickelodeon's “The Naked Brothers Band”. Russ leads a successful big band in the USA, performs with
with small combos, regularly records CDs with original music and teaches at a prestigious University
of Miami. He is currently touring with his latest album “Wait a Minute!” and works
on a new title that will be released at the end of the year. Collaborations: Tony Bennett, Joel Frahm, Tony
Lakatos, Benny Bailey, Hendrik Meurkens, Jim Rotondi, Jeremy Pelt…
On this tour, Russ will perform with a hammond trio made up of top Czechs
musicians – Daniel Bulatkin on organ and Marek Urbanek on percussion instruments. Repertoire
project will feature selections from Russ' upcoming album, as well as the "Wait a Minute" CD and selections
from his previous projects.
