Kateřina Marie Tichá, born only as Kateřina Tichá (* August 18, 1994 in Vlašim), is a Czech pop singer and songwriter.
In 2013, she was nominated for the Czech Nightingale award as discovery of the year. At the announcement of the 31st edition of the Žebřík poll in 2023, she won 3rd place for Female Singer of the Year.
Kateřina was born in Vlašim as Kateřina Tichá. She chose her artistic name, Kateřina Marie Tichá, in honor of her great-grandmothers Marie. She was interested in music from a young age and sang in several local choirs. She moved to Prague to study at Charles University.
The first step towards the beginning of her career was sending several of her cover songs to Martin Červink, a talent scout from Universal Music, who was responsible for the birth of the band Mandrage or the singer Jana Kirschner, for example. With his help, Kateřina released her debut song called Remember in 2012, she later sang this song at several concerts, but after its release she stopped singing for a long time. From 2013, she started touring as a guest of the Jelen group's concerts. She collaborated with them for two whole years, when in 2015 she released the album Otazníky[4]/ The song Otazníky from the album of the same name received a lot of response and after the song Do města plaj zima it is her most successful single. In 2020, she released her debut album Sami and began collaborating with the top band Bandjeez and David Stypka. Kateřina Maria Tiché's third album will be released in autumn 2023.
