The guided listening programme will introduce Rudolf Růžička as a composer and pioneer of Czech electroacoustic and computer music. The reproduction of his selected compositions from his personal archive will be accompanied by an explanation of the beginnings of computer music in Czechoslovakia, from Růžička's theoretical texts, through his pedagogical work at Brno universities, to references to the institutionalization of electroacoustic music in the Czech Republic in the form of the Musica Nova competition or the Society for Electroacoustic Music. The collaboration of R. Růžička with other important artists will also be mentioned.
The event will take place on Tuesday 21st November 2023 at 6 PM in the Jaroslav Kral hall (House of Arts, Malinovského náměstí)
