The limits of the experiment: Leandro Barzabal

Leandro Barzabal is an Argentinian musician and builder of electronic instruments active in the Parisian experimental scene, where he also supports and popularizes DIY approaches to music as part of the activities of the GRM Parallèle studio. His performances often include expressive gestures, some very brutal while others are rather subtle. As part of the Hranice experiment, he presents himself with a home-built synthesizer, on which he performs a monumental drone performance combining rolling walls of sound enabling a deep listening immersion with extreme interventions in the synthesizer circuits, disrupting the established state of things and exposing the materiality of his instrument.
