Black and White
Sometimes a single second is enough… Black and White is essentially a modern version of the flagship of the classical repertoire – Swan Lake. It is a title that is one of the most performed ballets in the world. Our version, which was a great success in the USA, represents today. It is an attempt to approach this work to the younger generation from a different perspective, by denying all traditions and visually transforming Swan Lake as such. In the classical version of the ballet, the dominant characters are ballerinas (the main double roles of Odette – Odile), so it is mainly a statement of the female element. In our version, we offer a view of Swan Lake through the main character, Prince Siegfried, who is going through a difficult life situation associated with the treatment of a serious illness – cancer. Sometimes a second is enough – and life is turned upside down.

Jesus Christ Superstar
rock opera
During the time of Roman rule over the Jews, Jesus of Nazareth preaches and gains followers. The Jewish high priests fear the loss of power, while the crowds celebrate Jesus as the messiah. Judas, portrayed as a rational opponent warning of Roman intervention, stands against Jesus, whose actions can be perceived either through his divinity or as gambling. The plot captures the last seven tense days of Jesus' life from his entry into Jerusalem to the crucifixion. The legendary musical work fascinates with its musical richness - the violent rhythms of the crowd's enthusiasm alternate with slower passages by the priests, the dramatic singing of Jesus and Judas contrasts with the melodic entrances of Mary Magdalene, the folk instrumentation of Pilate's dream with the musical song of Herod. Cast: Tomáš David, Tomáš Šulaj, Kristýna Danhelová, Pavel Majkus, Aleš Slanina / Jiri Daniel, Pavel Hromádka, Petr Čagánek, Martin Hudec, Tomáš Žilinský, Petr Trčálek, Jiri Hejcman, Pavel Šupina, David Vaculík, Pavlína Hejcmanová, Tereza Novotná, Jitka Hlaváčková, Linda Milotová

She chooses the physical beauty in Christian, only to realize at the end of the story that she has loved the beauty of Cyrano's soul all her life.

Manon Lescaut
Director Stanislav Moša is staging Nezval's text for the second time, having first done so in 1995, when the theatre celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with this production in the newly renovated hall on Lidická Street. At the time, the director and manager wrote about Nezval's text: "There is little Czech theatre literature that can be said to be a poem. Through it speaks a true passion bound by an amazing form enchanted in the beauty of the Czech language." Moša's adaptation of Manon Lescaut, which was subtitled "lyrical drama-confession", broke away from the linear narrative of the well-known story and created a timeless parable. The old abbé de Grieux recalls his fateful relationship with a sinful saint, which gives the originally lyrical story dramatic dimensions and brings to life long-ago secrets, hints and loves in the memories of a man at the end of his life.
Concentus Moraviae: Innerwoud
Innerwoud is a one-man band of Belgian double bassist and composer Pieter-Jan Van Assch, who lets the double bass sound, speak and sing in his productions. Van Assch's music is often described as ambient, neoclassical and drone, and despite its simple construction, it powerfully conveys emotions. Drones – long pauses – layer various textures and sounds produced by the double bass. The result is a melancholic trip, a journey through a wide open landscape or wandering in anonymous darkness, while a gentle melody casts a humble light on the whole. The festival will visit the inspiring environment of the former fruit processing and confectionery factory of Terezia Hrubá in Přerov for the first time. Today, the industrial complex of the family company Osmek flourishes with diverse cultural activities thanks to the Hrubá kotelna association, which is a partner of the concert and offers interested members of the audience a prelude in the form of a commented tour of the premises.
Lenka v Davu | Petra Göbelová
Lenka in the Crowd Two diametrically different people of the same sign, with the same sense of humor and the same therapist. The endless conflict between steak and tofu uncompromisingly and clearly divides the roles in their musical universe. The deep lyrics of the graceful fairy correspond significantly with the imaginative guitar line of the charismatic daredevil, creating an original work of an unidentifiable, but very pleasant genre. Petra Göbelová Petra Göbelová is a singer-songwriter who writes about everything that comes to mind. In 2014, she released her debut album “Normální žena”. She followed it up with several singles, such as “Velká holka” or “Nerozhodný typ”. In 2021, her second album “Někdy” was released. She was chosen as support by Tomáš Klus or Chinaski. She also played the entire Pokáčovo jaro 2018 tour with singer-songwriter Pokáč, with whom she sang the duet Láska na vsi.

Concentus Moraviae: Vox Luminis, Lionel Meunier
Bach Dynasty The internationally renowned Vox Luminis ensemble, under the direction of Lionel Meunier, specializes in the French, Italian and German repertoire of the 17th and early 18th centuries. For our festival, Voice of Light will focus on the Bach dynasty, drawing on pieces from a collection known as the Altbachisches Archiv. It contains around twenty motets and a number of cantatas composed by successive generations of Bachs. It is believed to have passed through the hands of various members of the family, who contributed to and revised it from 1650 until it was acquired by the most famous member of the family, Johann Sebastian, around 1739.
Concentus Moraviae: Jean Rondeau
Ode to Silence In the first of his two solo evenings, the resident artist of the 30th edition of the festival will offer Bach’s Goldberg Variations in their original harpsichord form. “The Goldberg Variations are all Bach, and I will definitely devote my whole life to them,” says Rondeau, who studied them using the original edition containing Bach’s own markings and corrections. In his harpsichord recital, Rondeau will perform the set of variations in their complete form, with indicated repetitions and thoughtfully inserted moments of silence.
Concentus Moraviae: Jean Rondeau
Sunday Goldberg Afternoon The 30th year artist-in-residence Jean Rondeau pays tribute to the Goldberg Variations at the festival: "They contain all of Bach and I will definitely devote my whole life to them," says Rondeau, who will not only grace Sunday afternoon with the famous work in the organ version, but will also offer it to our audience in its original harpsichord form during the next concerts of his residency, in a quartet transcription with the Nevermind ensemble, and finally in a creative authorial guise in the UNDR project.

Sugar! (Someone likes it hot)
The musical was based on the legendary film Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe. It is unbelievable, but the aforementioned film was first shown almost sixty years ago, in 1959. The musical of the same name then achieved extraordinary success worldwide, and in December 2008 it was brought to the stage of the Municipal Theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by director Stanislav Moša. He has now also taken on the direction of the production in our theatre. Two poor musicians accidentally get caught up in a war between mafia gangs. They are being hunted and have no choice but to hide safely. They change into women's clothes and get hired by a band going on tour to Miami Beach. Florida becomes a unique opportunity for the homeless musicians to disappear from the mafia's sight... However, their crazy adventure is far from over! Their disguises lead them into countless comical situations, and to top it all off, both our heroes fall in love with a charming singer and ukulele player named Sugar. As if all this weren't enough, one of our charming musicians, dressed in a woman's dress, is proposed to by an elderly millionaire...

JAZZFESTBRNO: BadBadNotGood
A famous cocktail of styles that fans of various musical expressions can agree on. It is no coincidence that they have already won two Grammy Awards and three other nominations. The Canadian BadBadNotGood are, however, a two-in-one collective. First, an instrumental trio, and second, a production team – and they are successful in both areas of their activity. As producers, they operate mainly in the hip hop sphere, and have collaborated with such great personalities as Tyler, The Creator (who, by the way, helped them greatly in the beginning to kick-start their careers), Kendrick Lamar, Ghostface Killah and Charlotte Day Wilson.
