The Brno Philharmonic has announced that due to the illness of Robert Kružík, Leoš Svárovský will take up the baton for Thursday's Concert with Laureates.
In this, the first concert of its kind in the history of the Brno Philharmonic, the audience will be treated to the winners of four international music competitions accompanied by an orchestra: pianists Alexander Kothera and Denis Stefanov, both absolute winners of the Amadeus competition in 2023 and 2021, violinist Zoya Sygunda, winner of the Concertino Praga 2024 competition, and double bassist Ondřej Sejkora, winner of the Leoš Janáček 2023 competition and the first deputy leader of the double bass group at the Brno Philharmonic. The concert will take place on 23 January 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Besední dům.
The Brno Philharmonic has long supported young performers, giving them the encouragement and opportunities they need to develop their artistic potential. The Concert with Laureates gives the winners of major international competitions held in the Czech Republic the chance to perform as soloists with a professional ensemble.
