On Monday, in his 81st year, Petr Řezníček died. He was a musical director and head of the artistic realisation of music broadcasting at Czech Radio Brno.
Petr Řezníček worked in the Brno studio from the 1960s. He was born on 18 February 1938 in Hradec Králové. He graduated from Brno’s Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (studying composition with Theodor Schaefer and Ctirad Kohoutek). Řezníček was a recognised music director, choirmaster (Brno University Choir and Brno Madrigalists) as well as being a composer.
Petr Řezníček died on Monday 21 January 2019. The memorial service will take place on Friday 25 January 2019 in the Curch of St. Thomas in Brno from 2.30 p.m.
