The Pop Messe Festival joins forces with Fléda and Kabinet Múz

The Pop Messe music festival, which celebrates the diversity of pop music with its program design, has announced a new partnership with the prestigious Fléda and Kabinet Múz clubs in Brno. The mutual cooperation aims to strengthen the local club scene, connect fans and share unforgettable musical experiences together.

“I consider it quite natural to cooperate with local and established partners such as Fléda and Kabinet Múz. I am delighted and looking forward to our new synergy, and I believe that in the future it will strengthen both our rapidly growing Pop Messe festival and the leading entities on the Brno club scene, which are indispensable elements of Brno’s cultural wealth," festival producer Tomáš Kelar comments on the new cooperation.

Pop Messe, which has become one of the most important music festivals in the Czech Republic during its short existence, has come up with a new concept that brings the festival environment even closer to the local music.

“The connection with Pop Messe is a clear and logical step for Kabinet Múz. We identify both the festival’s program design and its creative team. The cooperation between local clubs and the progressive festival will attract more visitors to all our venues, and together we can work to maintain awareness of live music in our beautiful city of Brno,” adds Martin Kozumplík, the operator of Kabinet Múz.

Pop Messe will take place on the last weekend of July, on the 28th and 29th, in the vicinity of the Za Lužánkami stadium and the adjacent premises of the Bobycentre. The organizers are preparing one outdoor and three indoor music stages for this year’s event. Two of the three stages inside the Bobycentre will bear the names of the cult clubs Fléda and Kabinet múz.

During the festival, Fléda will host an all-night Off Messe afterparty. Visitors who want to enjoy music into the early hours of the morning can look forward to musical productions until 6 a.m. “Although it may not always be obvious when you look at the Fléda program, the Pop Messe festival’s program design is an affair of the heart for us. We are thrilled to have it and we will do everything we can to make it even more successful and stronger," adds Lukáš Stara, manager of Fléda Club. Fléda, like Kabinet Múz, is one of the icons of the Brno music scene. Both clubs are known for their great concerts and atmosphere, attracting music fans from all over the country.

The third year of the Pop Messe will feature musicians such as  Tommy Cash, Spiritualized, Clark, Mareux, Gilla Band, Young Fathers, Hudson Mohawke, Max Copper, Lankum, Panda Bear and Sonic Boom, Annet X, Ventolin, Kale, Sunbrella and many more.

Connection, unity, contemplation - these words can be used to describe the musical evening of Schola Gregoriana Pragensis under the direction of David Eben and organist Tomáš Thon, which took place yesterday as part of the Easter Festival of Sacred Music at the church of St. Thomas. Not only the singing of a Gregorian chant, but also the works of composer Petr Eben (1929-2007) enlivened the church space with sound and colour for an hour.  more

With a concert called Ensemble Inégal: Yesterday at the church of St. John, Zelenka opened the 31st edition of the Easter Festival of Sacred Music, this time with the suffix Terroir. This slightly mysterious word, which is popularly used in connection with wine, comes from the Latin word for land or soil, and carries the sum of all the influences, especially the natural conditions of a particular location and on the plants grown there. This term is thus metonymically transferred to the programme of this year's VFDH, as it consists exclusively of works by Czech authors, thus complementing the ongoing Year of Czech Musicmore

For the fourth subscription concert of the Philharmonic at Home serieswhich took place on 14 March at the Besední dům and was entitled Mozartiana, the Brno Philharmonic, this time under the direction of Czech-Japanese conductor Chuhei Iwasaki, chose four works from the 18th to 20th centuries. These works are dramaturgically linked either directly through their creation in the Classical period or by inspiration from musical practices typical of that period. The first half of the concert featured Martina Venc Matušínská with a solo flute.  more

The second stop on the short Neues Klavier Trio Dresden's Czech-German tour was at the concert hall of the Janáček Academy of Music on 6 March at 16:00. A programme consisting of world premières by two Czech and two German composers was performed in four cities (Prague, Brno, Leipzig and Dresden).  more

The last opera première of the National Theatre Brno this year was Hurvínek Sells the Bride, which was co-produced with the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre. The première continued the thematic focus associated with the Year of Czech Music and took place on 24 November in the large hall of the Reduta Theatre.  more
